In the cold winters of northern Japan, families would gather around the irori, a crackling charcoal fire that warmed their homes and served as a place for cooking. For centuries, the open charcoal fire became the heart of the home, where meals were prepared, stories were shared, and bonds were strengthened.

Kin & Kaze reintroduces the warmth and authenticity of robatayaki, with a charcoal grill imparts a deep, smoky essence to fresh seasonal seafood, premium meats, and vibrant vegetables. Every skewer is carefully grilled using the traditional Japanese method of slow, mindful cooking, where each dish tells a story, and every meal becomes a moment to be cherished.

The Heart of Our Kitchen — Robatayaki

Rooted in northern Japan’s irori tradition, robatayaki is a method of slow-grilling food over a charcoal fire—where the warmth of the fire brings both comfort and flavor. At Kin & Kaze, this centuries-old technique lives on in every skewer we serve. It’s a comforting experience meant to be shared; flavors linger, and memories are made around the glow of the fire.
